Beyonce's Irreplaceable Song and Its Clones

Beyonce's Irreplaceable was undoubtedly infectious, but if we, music fans, thought we've heard enough, then we ought to listen again. Ne-Yo was the composer for this song and If I were him, I'd be angry because many artist thought, they too, could borrow credits for the songs' success. This is purely an observation of my scrutinizing ears and I can't help quoting the "obvious similarity" and the "obvious attempt of plagiarism" of these current hits;

Jordin Sparks "Tattoo"

She's not to blame of course, the producers were keen enough to rush this "pop-formula-song" to have our American Idol's first hit, and they're not disheartened. Tattoo peaked at No. 8 in Billboard's Hot 100 chart ('hardwork' paid at last)

Former PCD member Nicole Scherzinger's "Baby Love"
This single was rushed shortly after Nicole's first single, a duet with Nas received lukewarm response. Baby Love was a success on most Europe charts but only peaked at a disappointing 108th on America's Hot 100.

Chris Brown's "With You"

I may say this is the most blatant song to copy the original. Foolish americans as it may seem as "With You" is just one step closer to be number 1, currently it's peaked no 2 and I won't be surprised to hear it on the top spot.

This is done without any intention of dicrediting the artists...but I would say you'll agree with me that they have the same beat, arrangement, and sound. Right?

The Count of Monte Cristo - A Quick Review

I'm more as a music fan than a movie fan and oftentimes, movies don't give me that emotional punch like with the sounds after I'm through with them. However, after watching The Count of Monte Cristo back in 2002 (and a rerun in Sunday's Best last night) I realized that this is something great. It was a classic tale of betrayal, love, and sweet revenge. Edmond Dantes was sent to prison for a crime he was innocent.

There he found a mentor, an old man who taught him about literature, ethics, sword play, everything. When he died he left a treasure map to Edmond, the treasure contains chests of golds, jewelries, precious stones and so the revenge plot begins to heat up. It ends with a classic finale, so good and so satisfying you will never regret a single penny purchasing it (For those reluctant people, you're missing a lot).

The Count of Monte Cristo

Trivia: Did you know that it was the first novel our National Hero "Jose Rizal" has ever read?
