I hate the Harry Potter Movie Adaptations. the actors were "clueless" (Radcliffe is simply too "popular-looking" which is an anomaly from the book's descriptions), the script was a total mishap from Rowling's brilliance, and the plot simply doesn't live up to the beauty of the book. It's still a wonder for me how the Movies managed to procure its Gross (I loathe how they exclude the Sphinx-Riddle scene in the Triwizard Final task, what was the director thinking?).
I'm sure other Potter-Book fans were outraged by the Adaptation results...Speaking of Books, I can say they(or rather Rowling) have changed my life forever, see, I'm not used into reading fiction but The Sorcerer's Stone has paved the way for me to appreciate them. What I like about the novels is the detective-like elements incorporated in every installment, the narrative is concise and cohesive, the magical lessons (My favorite Subject is Transfiguration) , every chapter has a title with corresponding images, and of course, the characters...
Here are my All-Time Most favorite Character in the Harry Potter Series.
1. Peeves
Bloody Hilarious, since the first time I read his first ever dialogue "Oooooh...Ickle Firsties, How Fun" I was turned a loyal fan. I always look for him and the funniest line (I was laughing so hard 2 in the morning) was "Aha! Potty asks Loony to the Ball...Potty luuuuuuuuurves Looony!" It took me another five minutes to calm myself down...I just Love Peeves
Fave Line: "Oh Potter, you rotter, oh what have you done? You're killing off students, you think its good fun!"
2. Dolores Jane Umbridge
Though harry hated her, I always loved Dolores Jane Umbridge. With her toad-like face and deadly sweet personality, none could've contributed more in terms of filler-chapters in the fifth book than this Hogwarts High Inquisitor. Rowling was so good in describing her emotions and the dialogues are always a treat.
Stomach-Aching Line: "Unhand me you animals! I am Senior Undersecretary You Cannot- Noooooo!"
3. Fred and George Weasley
I can pretty relate to these two. Though I'm not as a mischief-maker as them, we have the same belief: That our success lies outside the academic walls, that there's a chance in talent and being smart in school does not necessarily guarantee better future.
They're funny too and I like the way they name those inventions they created (e.g Canary Creams, Fizzhing Whizbees).
4. Severus Snape
He was the only reason why I liked the sixth book Half-Blood Prince.
(If you're a real Potter Fan, you wouldn't take this as a spoiler, where have you been then?). If I was Potter, I wouldn't have survived 6 years under his bullying and side comments, it was a horrible experience.
After discovering his true intentions from the start, I salute this man for I thought, like Harry, the bravest man I have ever encountered (perhaps in print).
5. Luna Lovegood
When she was the Quidditch Commentator in Harry's 6th year at Hogwarts, I thought the humor would never be revived, but she did, especially with "Losers Lurgy". I think Rowling had done well in representing what they call "the freak" in high school at Hogwarts.
Though I agree with what most students feels towards her, somehow, I understand Luna, she is just misunderstood.
