Caffeine Withdrawal Syndrome and Why it Hurts When the Coffee is Gone

It was over, I was determined to break free from the excruciating pain Coffee has inflicted me, I started having coffee when I was about 8 and since then I have become a fanatic, and now a certified addictus. The price I pay was my frequent Hyper-acidity attacks that Antacids were a staple in my everyday living, I thought this shouldn't continue as what my nurse cousins says; It can lead to Peptic Cancer. I am very concerned with my future for I have lots of plans or activities to do and don't want this "illness" to be that destroyer...

So I vow to myself: No Coffee, Iced Teas, Sodas, and Fruit Juices. It was easier said than done.

My first day was pain beyond pain, it was a mixture of headache and migraine dancing the tap-dance inside my head, I tried not to let it affect my mood because I may say "things" never-before heard and attitude that I try to burry a long time ago. By mid-morning the pain has gone from bearable to excruciatingly painful, I thought I might become blind by the sensation in my upper eyes so I decided to sleep...I drank chocolate drink as a substitute to my usual coffee morning breaks...

On the second day the pain wasn't that hard to deal because I was introduced on our first day and a capsule of mefanamic acid helped (though there's still an empty hollow in my brain that pains everytime my head moves)...the third day, just minor migraines, and now, on the fourth day: I can say that I have surpassed the Caffeine Dependency Test, the pain no longer exist and my stomach feels normal again: no souring every night or getting hungry every three hours...It was as though I'm a newborn, I feel so alive and proud of my accomplishment in finally conquering this "addiction" for good. I've done some research and found the very reason why my head aches when I stop consuming coffee...

Regular caffeine consumption reduces sensitivity to caffeine. When caffeine intake is reduced, the body becomes oversensitive to adenosine. In response to this oversensitiveness, blood pressure drops dramatically, causing an excess of blood in the head (though not necessarily on the brain), leading to a headache. This headache, well known among coffee drinkers, usually lasts from one to five days, and can be alleviated with analgesics such as aspirin. It is also alleviated with caffeine intake (in fact several analgesics contain caffeine dosages).

Often, people who are reducing caffeine intake report being irritable, unable to work, nervous, restless, and feeling sleepy, as well as having a headache. In extreme cases, nausea and vomiting has also been reported.

The Best Holiday Albums Your Unworthy Ears Shouldn't Hear

Damn, it’s freezing cold now ei? Though we don't have snow here, winter is totally in the air. I never could imagine experiencing that summer blazing wind because of the chilled air now.
I thought the cold has triggered my fantasy of vampires, werewolves, and zombies because having no sunlight was the key after all. I'm taking my time to enjoy the winter chills. These holiday albums did the job:

1. Sarah Brightman- A Winter Symphony

I wasn't a fan to be honest but I read in a review that this album from the opera-chick was the bomb to heighten that winter feel, and so it did. Listening to it was like having snow in your window, i know its weird but the music itself was magic, I mean is this even possible? Or I'm just a music sucker?

Highlights: Arrival, Colder than winter, Child in a Manger

2. Billy Gillman- Classic Christmas

Dude, this kid was awesome; his age didn't hinder him into procuring that "classic" feel into his Christmas songs. I’ve listened to a loads of Christmas albums before but none could come near in terms of that classic appeal than this kid's "Sh*t"...it has its ballad moments and merry bouncy tunes, perfect for the Boxing Day afternoons

Highlights: Warm & Fuzzy, White Christmas, the Christmas Song

3. Enya- And Winter Came
I was just introduced to New Age music some five years ago and Enya was always the frontrunner in this genre. I bought And Winter Came and after that I can't put it out the cd drive. Listening to it was like sitting in one of the great castles in the Lord of the Rings, I was amused with this (though I wouldn't fancy becoming a hobbit, or dwarf)

Highlights: Trains and Winter Rains, One Toy Soldier

4. Josh Groban- Noel
This is the best modern Christmas pop album for me; Groban has put every element on his holiday offering whether Country, Jazz, Pop, RnB, and Gospel, this is a feat because I couldn't imagine someone incorporating the entire element into a Christmas album. Guest appearances includes Brian McKnight and Faith Hill

Highlights: Noel, I'll be home for Christmas, Ave Maria

5. Sarah McLachlan- Wintersong

A very good alternative holiday album, sometimes, a whisperer tunes louder than the shouter and Sarah made me realize the beauty of winter chills again, Piano and that voice are enough for a Very Merry Christmas- the subtle way. Pretty relaxing while having your coffee…

Highlights: Have yourself a merry little Christmas, River, Christmas Time is here

Wait...though it’s supposedly holiday albums, there's another CD I’ve been addicted to and their name has the winter element so an exception to the rule…

Snow Patrol- A Hundred Million Suns

Not since Coldplay's Viva la Vida or Death and all his friends I was so immersed with this kind of music, can't just place it under rock because its so diverse and beautiful, not even EMO or alternative, more of an arena rock but the cd has its silently moments too, simply beautiful

Highlights: Lifeboats, Crack the Shutter, Take back the City, Disaster Button

Stars Born Under the Sagittaurus Sign

It is a common belief that Sagittarius is the sign where the beautiful, talented, smart, and optimistic people are born...Most Sagittarians I know have these qualities and they seem to be more than fine, in case you're wondering why I discuss this today even though I'm not December-born, well I think now that its December, this is a tribute to them:

Positive Traits

• Optimistic and freedom-loving
• Jovial and good-humored
• Honest and straightforward
• Intellectual and philosophical

Negative Traits

• Blindly optimistic and careless
• Irresponsible and superficial
• Tactless and restless

Sagittarius Likes: unlimited freedom, alternative or unusual ideas, being on the move all the time, plentiful food and drink, perfumes and beauty aids of any kind, gambling, raffles and lotteries, and recreational flirting with those aforementioned people.

Sagittarius Dislikes: disapproval of others, inclined to keep in the end, being too safe, secure, or confined, administrative details, and above all having their basic honesty doubted by others for any unmerited reason.

Let's see the famous people under this Sign:
