Back when I was a kid, I thought I just love cleaning; the house, the kitchen, the gutter, the room, the bathroom etc. I was always in distress seeing a disorganized table with books not properly stacked, pens out of the pencil case or paper lying around. My brothers and sisters were irritated by me every time I remind them to wash their hands before dinner, or to make sure the bathroom stays as clean as I have left them, and other things I thought normal for a growing boy.
Then in my adolescence years I have discovered I fear human contact; especially their hands. I wasn't fond of borrowing cellphones, ballpen, or even coins because I feel they may contain "things" hidden from the naked eye that may squirm into my skin if I don't "destroy" them as early as possible. I avoid the door knobs, public bathrooms, and sharing utensils is a punishable crime.Crazy part was when people started talking about kissing or sex enthusiastically, I wasn't interested; I was more concerned about saliva, germs, perspiration, and contamination, Of course I was silent all the time in fear of persecution ( I mean how many people you meet that wasn't interested with that?). Don't get me wrong, I was just born that way and before I knew it, Yep, I realized I was suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
After reading some OCD fact from Wikipedia, I breathed in relief to know mine's was just benign: I just want everything organized and clean, that's all (and no human contact please). Even famous English footballer David Beckham has been outspoken regarding his struggle with OCD:
1. He has to count all his clothes, and that magazines have to lie in a straight line.
2. No more than three soda cans are allowed in his refrigerator, and if there are any more at home they have to be placed in a cupboard.
3. He has explained that the reason he gets more tattoos is that he feels addicted to the pain of the needle.
4. In hotels, any books that are on a shelf must be placed in the drawer.
I understand him and lucky he's a celebrity for he can demand hotels with those things. Fortunately I've got no bones about Hotels or Resto as long as they serve the buffet just right.
